The deal for Vito Roque is expected to open doors for a number of young stars at Barcelona.
The FC Barcelona entity, represented by chairman Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco, realized that Barca no longer had the same financial advantage when it came to recruiting Europe’s best high-priced stars.
Barcelona’s strategy for bringing in deals is changing drastically, especially after the Vito Roque deal, which is expected to open the door to a host of young stars within the Barcelona citadel.
Barcelona are targeting a duo with very different characteristics, young Swedish midfielder Lucas Bergvall and future Argentinian talent Claudio Echeverri.
Both are 17 years old. The former plays for Swedish club Djurgardens, and the latter represents River Plate in 4 local games.
Barcelona are close to the duo but at this point another big European club could come in to compete with Barca for any deal, but this is usually Barcelona’s new strategy when it comes to deals.
